In pursuit of excellence

In constant pursuit of innovation and improvement, over $1 million has been invested since 2009 to enhance the customer experience.

Golf Waterloo, where history meets current events…

Golf Waterloo first opened its doors in 1961, when a 9-hole course was laid out on the Waterloo course.

In the autumn of 1973, the clubhouse was razed by fire, leaving only memories of golf.

In the spring of 1974, construction began on the new clubhouse, which was also relocated to meet the growing demand for the sport. The Armand Russel family decided to build an 18-hole course (Le Napoléon), which saw the light of day in the spring of 1991. Golf Waterloo has then 27 holes.

1994 saw the expansion of the clubhouse. The reception rooms, bar, snack bar, kitchen and locker rooms were completely refurbished to meet the needs of our customers.

In 1997, a new 9-hole course was built to complement the original 9-hole Waterloo golf course. With 36 holes of golf and a modern clubhouse, Golf Waterloo became the destination par excellence for golfers in the Eastern Townships.

In 2009, Isabelle Lisé and Joslin Coderre became owners of Golf Waterloo, with a mandate to make the Waterloo golf course the best public golf club in the Eastern Townships.

In 2011, the Waterloo Golf Club celebrates its 50th anniversary, which is celebrated at the National Assembly, along with its efforts to combat blue-green algae. In four years of sustained efforts, phosphorus levels in its water bodies have dropped by 89%.

In 2013, the Club de Golf Waterloo acquired the Club de Golf Granby St-Paul to offer its members access to two courses.

In 2017, the Club de Golf de Waterloo planted 800 aquatic plants in Frost Creek to further reduce phosphorus levels in this watercourse that feeds Waterloo Lake. Waterloo Lake is one of the lakes most affected by cyanobacteria in Quebec.

2019 will mark the second phase of the golf clubhouse expansion. The main function room will now accommodate 350 people.

2022 will mark the start of a 5-year plan to renovate the main clubhouse.
